I want to make some films and am thinking about what to buy. I am always told that a Mac Pro and Final Cut Pro are the best. However they are also way more expensive and there hasn't been an update in a while I don't think and the i7 processor I am told is great plus I am not sure that Final Cut is all that much better then Avid or Adobe video editing software???

If I get a Mac Pro and Final Cut can I finance that? how much more in the end will I pay for interest in the end?

If I get an HP for 1,500 and Adobe for 1,500 how much more will it cost to finance?

And as for a camera I want HD since its the best and think I need to get a pro model and am still debating whether to get one with a Hard Disk Drive. I really don't know that much about camcorders and there seems to be so much to know. Nor do I know of all the other equipment like lights, green screen, Chroma Key, and if there is anything else??? I think a camera and other stuff would maybe cost 3,500 not sure but if so can I finance this and if so how much would I be paying more with interest in the end?

If you ask me for a credit rating or something I would just say good. Not real sure about all that stuff. If you can't give an exact answer could you please try and give me a ballpark answer??? thanks!

    ok first:
    mac vs i7
the mac rpo uses a nehalem processor and it comes at an extremely expensive price for very low specs besides the nehalem.
the core i7 is an 8-threaded processor what this means:
most video producing software when exporting to an HD format or any other uses multiple streams/threads the use as many available to let the data stream flow even faster. the physical cores are the ones being used in playback/ loading. the nehalem has only 4 hyperthreads which mean 2x as slow for 1000 dollars more.
you can get an i7 editing beast machine for about 1200

    now for editing software:
for mac final cut pro is very high rated because mac has really other choice for editing programs besides that and premier pro.
for pc id say get sony vegas pro 9 (for about $599 USD) its got the same exact things as final cut plus full HD support and native 3d support. i have sony vegas and i can guarantee you i will never use another editing program again
avid is a decent at best company because i have 2 of their products and i have riped my hair apart with both from their bad interface and bad rendering style.
    as for adobe:
im not sure what adobe product you are referring to
adobe premier pro and adobe after effects both are meant for video production but after effects is meant only for special fx.
after effects sells for $1000 (USD)
and premier pro sells for $799 (USD)
i would say going with sony vegas because the interface is soo much more intuitive plus its very VERY easy to get used to within the first couple of days! also it is much more popular than premier pro because of its outstanding performace in playback/rendering/easy-to-use tools
premier will confuse you if you are not a very experienced editor but sony vegas however is like a product for both because if you know how to use it correctly it will be amazing.
After effects however is a comlpetely different experinece. when i first used it i was blown away but now im more familiar with it and i can create work that is very beautiful

    now for computer brand:
hp is a VERY BAD brand company.
as many people see commercials on tv for hp and dell only a certain amount of people who actually care about good computers check the reviews. the standard ratings for hp's are about 3/10
    (as seen here http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Hewlett_Packard )
that is because the components that are put inside are very poorly manufactured and assembled together this causes loose wires and extreme heat damage to the cpu and other major parts.
and hp computer may last you 1.5 years if you are lucky…
i reccomend sites such as alienware (of course) or ibuypower or cyberpower pc or even digitalstorm
where you can get very durable pc's for around the same price.

    now for cameras:
there are soo many camreas perfect for HD video now a starter camera i would say would the this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9186178&type=product&id=1218049843274
i have afriend who has this one but in black and it cpatures video flawlessly but it might be too expensive for you.
i would reccomend anything by sony or jvc i would not reccomend anything by flip for they are poor quality.

    now for studio extras:
i wouldnt know of the top of my head where to buy studio lights but you can find them by simply searching google. most lights are around $120 (possibly much more or much less)
green screens cost around $20 because its impoly a peice of green cloth.
as for chromakeying sony vegas and final cut pro both have it along with adobe premier pro and after effects.
    all around cost id say
    pc: 1200
editing software: 600 (also avaible sony vegas 9 versions at prices around $120 which is the same thing but misses only a VERY tiny amount of tools which can be used for easier workflow)
    camera: 500-700
    studio extras: 250
    price in total around $2070-$2750
which is significantly lower than you might have anticipated.
although do not rely on me as your only resource for i dont know everything that you might nedd such as microfones/ multiple monitors/ stages etc.
and my studio pricing could be completely off.
i hope my answer was detailed enough for you and i hope this helped you out very much :)
